ABOUT
João da Silva (Lisbon, 1988) is an artist whose beginnings date back to 2005 when he started to paint under the tutelage of brazilian naïf artists Zé Cordeiro and Edna de Araraquara while still in high school. Shortly after he sought the teachings of portuguese visionism master Luís Vieira Baptista, with whom he has been learning to this day. Having graduated in architecture in IST, Lisbon, he also completed the first year of SNBA’s drawing course, which at the time (2008) was supervised by sculptor Quintino Sebastião. Currently he conciliates both activities, architecture by day and painting by night.
